Le Pain Quotidien or "The Daily Bread" in french, actually is a chain, it isn't local. This chain is in big cities like DC and New York! It has a great ambiance, one that is similar to a european cafe. I love having brunch here because the omelettes are the bomb diggity. I usually get the tomato and avocado omelette but today I felt my sweet tooth calling to me. I ordered the Belgian Waffle with fruit and cream and OMG, the waffle is like a soft but crunchy cake. It is so yummy. It is dense but the fruit and the cream make it refreshing. I paired my meal with a nice hot chocolate. (Side note on the hot chocolate, here they bring you a cup of warm milk and a small jug of chocolate. You then pour your desired amount of syrup and VIOLA, hot chocolate. I just love that. )
My sister ordered the acai bowl that just looks divine. It is so refreshing, and creamy. The acai is mixed with yogurt and coconut milk that makes it taste a little bit like ice cream or fro yo. It is topped with fresh fruit and granola making this the ultimate power breakfast. She had a cinnamon chai latte that was to die for.
Finally, my mom had a egg skillet that came with bread and butter. The cool thing about this place is that on every table they have a fruit jam selection and a hazelnut spread to put on your bread. (HAZELNUT is the best). Her egg skillet was topped with prosciutto which made it even more tempting.
I come here alot and am so excited when I bring others to try it out. I prefer this place for breakfast, not lunch. I just feel that the breakfast menu is superior to all others. Good thing its breakfast ALL DAY!
