Woa it has been a while! but I decided to write about all the reading I did so far in the year because this has been the most commited I have been in regards to religously having a book in my hand. I usually don't have the time, and sometimes patience to read, cause of everything going on in my life, but this year I have decided to slow life down a little bit and enjoy the amazing array books out there.

As you can see, so far, that is alot of books I have read, but fear not, there are more that are not pictured due to me checking out books from the library. (not pictured: a Long way Home, ABC murders, Murder of Roger Ackroyd). Also another observation is that most are Agatha Christies. YES, this year Agatha and I have gotten to know eachother real well, and I turly enjoy her company. I have loved reading Christies books this year because, they are compelling, witty and just darn good. I recommend her Poirot novels, even though "And then there were none "may possibly be one of my top five books of all time.

I have also enjoyed reading Children's classics like "the Little Prince", " the Secret Garden", "a Wrinkle in Time" They were just great cozy reads that maybe lasted a day or two that were cute and simple.

Along with getting to know Agatha, Carrie Fisher became my dear friend. Both of her novels which are really memoirs rather, were so easy to read, and what I mean by that is her writing is so fluid, it is like she is sitting right in front of you telling her life story. It was hard to put down because sh has funny anecdotes and snarky comments that just wants you to keep being engaged in the story.

Finally, to my last two favorite books so far this year: "Journey to the Center of the Earth", and "The Handmaids Tale". OMG, Journey to the Center of the Earth is what I imagine everybody wants a book to be, Full of adventure at every page. This book was soooo hard to put down because each chapter ended in a clifhanger that you just needed to find out what happened and next thing you know the book is finished. This was so well written, and hilarious. I don't know if Jules Verne intended that to be, but I thing the dynamic between Professor Lidenbrock and his nephew Axel was straight up hilarious. A definite re-read. A Handmaids Tale was a different type of book that just is so thought provoking, hits you to your core, and emotional. You feel for Offred, the protagonist and fear if the world will come to the world depicted in the novel. This book is a post-apocolyptic, distopian novel, which strangely mirrors some issues today. I also have been getting into the show on hulu, and guys, I loved the first season, but season 2 is hard to watch cause it is just SO DEPRESSING.

Anyway, I'm signing off on this post, cause I am currently reading more books which I will brief at the end of the year reasing summary. Happy Reading!
