District Dumpling: Mosaic District, Merrifield VA

District Dumpling is now my new favorite place to go with friends. They are utterly delicious and succulent. I have been here numerous times since one of my friends enlightened me with the existence of District Dumpling.

This place resides further down the mosaic district near the construction and Sisters Thai (an amazing Thai restaurant). It has a cute vibe going on and the smells are enticing. I went here with vegetarian friends and meat lovin friends, and they do both kinds of dumplings. Now as a meat lover, I always have to have the pork and celery dumpling along with the bulgogi beef one, but from what I hear from my plant friends is that the butternut squash and cheese one is delicious.

The cool thing about this place is that you can get your dumplings pan fried or steamed. If steamed, you get them in a cool looking bamboo box here. My mom is a huge fan of the Shu Mai, which is basically just a differently rolled dumpling that is steamed. The Shu Mai come in pork, chicken and vegetable flavors and I prefer the chicken the best. If you go with a buddy who doesnt do dumplings....sandwiches are also served her, which I have yet to try.

They also give you complimentary tea and noodle salad with your meal which makes the experience all the better. (extra plus, they have a reward card: buy 5 meals you get one free. You best believe I'm using those meals). Did I mention you get 12 dumplings for $9.99!!!!!! what a steal!!!!

So if you are in the area, and in the mood for a nice after movie snack or a late night craving, District Dumpling will not dissapoint......I promise. Now I am on my way to get myself some right now!!
